The Level 3 Personal Training qualification will build on your knowledge gained through the Level 2 Gym Instructor course. The Level 3 Personal Training qualification will build on your knowledge of the human body, exercise prescription, advanced training techniques, long term goal setting, deliver excellent sessions, supply client support and even grow a successful personal training business. The Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification enables you to train clients in the UK but also around the world.

To complete the Level 3 Personal Training course, all students are required to have completed a Level 2 Gym Instructor course. You will also need to be 16 years of age or over and have basic written/spoken English skills.

The course is made up of 4 units, that all offer both practical and theory-based learning opportunities. The course units include:

Anatomy and physiology for exercise and health
Applying the principles of nutrition to a physical activity programme
Programming personal training with clients
Delivering personal training sessions

The duration and assessment of your Level 3 Personal Trainer course depends on the learning option that you select.

The online learning method allows you to complete your qualification in just 6 weeks. The online qualification is assessed in several ways, including case studies, portfolio questions and practical video assessments along with a 20-hour industry experience log that is completed alongside your coursework.

The face to face learning method blends online portfolio study and face to face training giving a mixed learning approach. Complete within 6 weeks.
